The Electric Yellow cichlid (Labidochromis Caeruleus) is a very beautiful African cichlid from the Lake Malawi. As you probably have figured, it has a bright yellow color. The Electric Yellow is a small rock-dwelling Malawi cichlid. You can find morphs where the yellow is completely replaced by a baby blue color.

I recently bought this brand new eBook called ”Cichlid Fish Secrets” that should cover the African Cichlid care. I didn’t expect much since the low price, but I was very surprised. The book claims it covers everything you could possibly need to know about keeping healthy and happy cichlids. It also goes into detail on how to breed your cichlids.

The Red Top Zebra Cichlid is from Lake Malawi. This is one of the most beautiful cichlids. The male is colorful with a yellow dorsal fin. The females are more dull cream colored. This is a pretty calm African cichlid and it grows up to 5 inches. The Red Top Zebra Cichlid loves a rocky bottom so I would advice you to setup your aquarium with many rocks and hideouts.

The Brichardi Fairy cichlid is endemic to Lake Tanganyika. The scientific name is Neolamprologus brichardi. The Fairy cichlid likes to have pretty high pH in the water. Around 8.5-9 pH is optimal, but it will do ok down to 7 pH. Temperature should be between 78 and 82 degrees. I would not recommend keeping this cichlid in less than a 55 gallons aquarium. They eat all the normal cichlid food such as pellets, flakes and frozen foods.

The Cynotilapioa Afra Cobue or the Orange Black is found in the Lake Malawi. The Afra Cobue lives pretty deep in this lake on rocky areas and in open waters. Since the pH of this lake is between 7.8 and 8.5, this is also the best pH levels for your aquarium if you intend to keep the Orange Black.
